flower shop au

Eclipsed on popularity only by the coffee shop AU, the flower shop AU is one of fandom's perennial mainstays. Add in shipping or gen and this slice-of-life trope really blooms!

- Comment with your character, of course! Include preferences and, if desired, a small blurb about what role your character might take. Don't be afraid to bring in adjacent AU types, like coffee shop AUs, modern AUs, or the ever-popular flower shop/tattoo parlor AU.

Shuichi was finishing a transaction for another customer when the door opened to a familiar face, one who he had never seen outside of school before and had no reason to think lived anywhere nearby. Not knowing what he did about Quatre's situation, at least. With everything the other had going on, the redhead did not immediately worry that his presence had anything to do with the his arrival at the shop, such as an attempt to corner him into conversation, like he may have with certain other classmates. The logical answer was more grounded in reality, of course, he must need to purchase some flowers.
The smile remained once the woman left and he was free to shift his attention to help someone else, turning curiously to the newcomer as he walked in.
“Looking for anything in particular?”

As he glanced up from the flowers he finally spotted the person who was working behind the counter. O-oh... It was Shuichi. He felt his heart skip a bit for a moment, seeing the guy that he found attractive outside of school. He obviously worked here. So that was why he was never around after school! He had a job.
It was true; he was not here just for conversation. He really did have flowers that he wanted to buy. But it was a happy accident that he had run into Shuichi. He smiled as the other came over.
"I'm looking for something that would be good for my older sister's birthday."
