flower shop au

Eclipsed on popularity only by the coffee shop AU, the flower shop AU is one of fandom's perennial mainstays. Add in shipping or gen and this slice-of-life trope really blooms!

AU for Quatre and Kurama
He had been attending Japanese schools for a few years now, but he occasionally still realized it, especially as he sat on the subway or at food court with his school uniform on, that he had been privately tutored at him, but now he was in a public high school.
School was getting a bit harder now. Not because classes were hard, but because he had started to realize he had a crush on one of his classmates, Shuichi. Just the way he talked and how he looked and... well... everything, Quatre found him very attractive. But he was not quite sure how to say it. He had grown up in a country, in a family that was more direct. If you wanted to say something, you said it. Here, being so blunt, especially in a space with a lot of other people, was not common.
Which left the question, how did he tell him? Did he ever tell him? Shuichi always seemed to leave quickly as soon as school ended. Quatre on the other hand, usually stayed back a bit longer either to study or go to a club, depending on the day.
Well, he thought as he sat on the subway, guess he was never going to get the chance.
He was scrolling though his phone - none of his friends at school rode the same trains as him - when he got a text from his father.
'Did you get the flowers for your sister's birthday?'
...He had left so early this morning, literally promising his father when he was mostly outside, that he had completely forgotten!
Not knowing where even the closest florist to his house was, he immediately googled it. There was one not too far from the next stop. Good, he could go get the flowers and then get back on the train and finish going home with only minimal disruptions.
He stood, moving towards the train carriage door before texting his father that he was heading there now and would be home shortly. As the door opened, he hurried as quickly as he could out of the subway station and to the flower shop.
He pushed open the door, stepping inside, the strong smell of flowers everywhere. Good thing he liked that. Now... what kind of flowers would his sister want...?
